“Reflection / Sun Speckled” is an exploration of negative space within my main body of work that typically contains none. This painting is one of few I’ve made where I’ve visualized the end result beforehand instead of allowing the painting to “work itself out”. The natural color of the canvas is a calming break between the intensely saturated layers of paint, pastel, crayon & other media.
